About Evelyn

Evelyn Acosta-Cone
I have been painting since I was a child. My parents, being the practical people they were, thought painting was nice but having a “real job” was better. They encouraged my art but insisted I study something that would provide an income, like teaching.
Puerto Rico is where I was born, but I have lived in the United States for most of my life. I have been fortunate to study art around the country, but seriously started painting again when I retired to Washington state. I owe the development of whatever talent I have to many wonderful teachers, especially Aldo Favili and Ruby Agnew-Martin. They were the ones who encouraged and inspired me to pursue my art.
I have lived in Marble Falls for several years. One of the many reasons I feel lucky to live here is the art exhibited around town and the Hill Country. The Hill Country is a beautiful place and inspires all kinds of creativity.
You can see my art at the Highland Art Guild and Gallery in Marble Falls, Texas. I teach a watercolor class every Wednesday at the Gallery, give private lessons, and do workshops.
I truly enjoy sharing my love of art with others and believe there is art in everything.
